When selecting any piece of raw material, there are several factors that need to be considered. Tension within the tree and wind twist are two such factors; moisture content vis-à-vis wood dryness is another important element, as wood can crack and split in the drying process. Wood for your masterpiece should be adequately seasoned before beginning any work.
